Get Involved - How to become a Republican Precinct Committeeman?
A Republican Precinct Committeeman represents the GOP voters of his or her precinct at the County Republican Party level.  But most importantly, a Republican Precinct Committeeman is the "face of the GOP" within the precinct.  In many cases, a Republican Precinct Committeeman might be the only party official a voter ever meets in person.  This volunteer position is really what one makes of it.  Some do more than others. But the Republican Precinct Committeeman’s job is in essence all about helping to grow the GOP and working to deliver the maximum number of Republican votes from his or her precinct on Election Day.  Precinct Committeemen comprise the core of any grassroots effort and no political campaign can be successful without these front-line GOP ambassadors.  The principle means of doing the job is just an extension of what most people already do – talking to the neighbors.  If your neighborhood or precinct is not covered by a Precinct Committeeman please let us know.

Duties of a Republican Precinct Committeeman.  The duties of the Republican Precinct Committeeman are, but not limited to:
  • Serving as a member of the Central Committee, voting on motions in meetings of the Central Committee, attending and participating in meetings and Voting for officers of the Central Committee.
  •  Suggesting and Volunteering for activities of the Central Committee and chairing committees with specific tasks.
  •  Voting on filling ballot vacancies.
  • In the precinct, register citizens to vote, circulate nominating petitions for Republican candidates, securing yard sign locations, distributions of political material throughout the precinct and promote the election of Republican candidates in all elections.
  • Finding qualified voters to serve as Republican Election Judges;  poll-watching and finding volunteers to be poll-watchers.
  • Making themselves known to the voters in their precinct and identify supporters of Republican candidates in their precincts.
  • Expected to participate in the financial support of the party.  (Various systems are available for your convenience).

THE POWER OF PARTY PRECINCT COMMITTEEMAN CAN'T BE UNDERESTIMATED

ST. LOUIS - "The Most Powerful Office In The World Is NOT The President of the United States," says a popular pamphlet some say was penned by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly as far back as the late 80s.
While her nationwide Eagle Forum activist group still sells the brochure online, Mrs. Schlafly's name isn't listed as the author.
The mystery of the pamphlet's origination continues - as does the power of the information inside. It succinctly encourages everyday Americans to get involved with the local organization of the political party of their choice to  make a difference in local, state and national politics.
