Wednesday, January 17, 2018 WITHDRAWAL OF CANDIDACY Last day for candidates of established political parties to file withdrawal of nomination papers in the office of the county clerk. Thursday, January 18, 2018 WRITE-IN CANDIDATES Last day a person may file a notarized Declaration of Intent to be a write-in candidate with the proper election authority or authorities (appropriate county clerk(s) and/or board(s) of election commissioners.) Thursday, February 8 , 2018 - Early Voting at Clerk's Office & Vote By Mail begins Tuesday, February 20, 2018 - Voter Registration closes Wednesday, February 21, 2018 - Grace-period registration & voting begins: Monday, March 5, 2018 - Early Voting off-site locations open Tuesday, March 20, 2018 - Illinois General Primary Election; Nomination of Officers for: Federal, State, Legislative, Judicial, County Election of Officers for: Political Party Offices (Delegates to Nominating Convention and Precinct Committeemen), Referenda, Special Election.

September 5, 2017 -- First day to circulate petitions for the March 20, 2018 primary. October 9, 2017 - Letters mailed out to Election Judges from the County. Monday, November 27, 2017 First day for candidates of established political parties to file original nomination papers (must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators). Candidates for congressional, legislative and judicial offices, or for any office to be elected by the voters of more than one county will file in the principal office of the State Board of Elections. Thursday, November 30, 2017 Deputy Registrars Last day County Central Committee Chairman shall submit a list to the election authority of applicants for additional deputy registrars. NOTE: The election authority may require a Chairman of a county Central committee to furnish a supplemental list of applicants. Monday, December 4, 2017 - Last day of Filing period for candidates of established parties. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 - Last day for written notice of the time and place for conducting lottery shall be given when two (2) or more petitions are received simultaneously for the same office and party: (a) as of the opening hour of the filing period, November 27, 2017; and/or (b) within the last hour of the filing period, December 4, 2017 Monday, December 11, 2017 - Objection period ends Wednesday, December 13, 2017 (last day) - Ballot placement lottery Friday December 15, 2017 - Voter Registration Data First day for election authority to indicate in writing that their voter registration data, including voting history from the latest election, is complete and up-to-date. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 - Vote by Mail - APPLICATION First day for any registered voter presently within the confines of the United States, to make application by mail or in person to the election authority for an official ballot. Please note that mailing and delivery of ballots does not begin until Thursday, February 8, 2018. Tuesday December 26, 2017 Last day for judicial candidates of established political parties to file original nomination papers (must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators) in the principal office of the State Board of Elections for judicial vacancies which occurred during the period November 13 – December 4, 2017. Thursday, December 28, 2017 Notice of Special Judicial Lottery. Last day for written notice of the time and place for conducting lottery shall be given when two (2) or more petitions are received simultaneously for the same office and party: (a) as of the opening hour of the filing period, December 18, 2017; and/or (b) within the last hour of the filing period, December 26, 2017 (special judicial filing period). The State Board of Elections shall give notice to the chairman of each established political party. Notice must also be posted.
