Can I vote by absentee ballot?
Yes, if you cannot go to your polling place on Election Day for a reason listed on the Absentee Statement (Application), you are in the military, or if you live outside of the United States.
Request an Absentee ballot application from your party Headquarters or your county clerk office to be mailed to you. First day of to make a request is August 5th 2020. Applications can be requested on September 24th for the November 2020 election.
Does my ballot have to be witnessed or notarized? NO
When does the Department of Elections have to receive my absentee ballot in order for it to be counted? No later than 5p p.m. on the day before the election.
Does Illinois have a permanent absentee list? NO
